The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a military institution created during the cold war, according to the treaty of 1949, as an alliance of defense against communist camp, It based on the article 05.

But the transformations which characterized the period after the cold war made the change of this alliance’s functions s a necessity toward the search for its origin geographical space, in relying on two mechanisms: territorial expansion by adding new members and military extension through interventions by using military power.
