The manipulation of Ecocriticism in contemporary poetry is one of the characteristics of the readers to understand meaning and get more pleasure out of the texts .Symbols are one of the literary terms .

The special feature of symbol is its ambiguity, connotation, nonliteralness, and non-directness.

That is to say, in symbolic language, the aim is not the surface meaning but the deep meaning (connotation), and even more than that.

Javad Jamil and Tahere Safar zadeh among the contemporary poets have used symbols a lot in their poems and this has , in turn , been one of the secrets of their ambiguity and complexity of their poems .

For this reason, in this article, two or three joint symbols in Jamil’s and Safarzahde’s poems such as “ The Soil”, “trees”, “The Sun”, “Water”, “Mother” and “Flower” have been used as symbols.
