Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to investigate the quality of Mawhiba Creativity Test (MCT) through two essential components of measurement: reliability and validity.

A random sample of (4368) individuals was selected from the study population, which represents all students in public education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from the third grade to the 12th grade.

Cronbach alpha coefficient was used to study the consistency of scores derived from the MCT test.

Some indicators of generalization theory were calculated to study the stability of the test.

To investigate the construct validity of MCT, confirmatory factor analysis was used.

The results of Cronbach alpha coefficients showed high reliability, ranging between (0.74) and (0.88) with respect to the sub-scales of the MCT and amounted to (0.90) for the whole test.

The indicators of the generalization theory showed a good estimate of test stability, amounting to (0.81) for one rater and (0.86) for three raters.

The results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed five independent dominating factors that represent the creativity construct (fluency, originality, flexibility, sensitivity to problems and elaboration).

This result was in line with what resulted from other global studies on creativity tests, such as Torrance test of creative thinking.
