Abstract EN

There is no doubt that small and medium-sized enterprises are the pillar of the economies of the countries, in terms of their participation in the fabric of all businesses, and their contribution to the many fields of economic development; therefore governmental policies have supported and developed them.

Today, SMEs find themselves facing new challenges because of social and environmental pressure.

This raises the question on the capacity of these enterprises to overcome these issues, or contribute to minimize them as an active element.

In addition, the weakness of these foundations in economic terms (limited capitals) makes it difficult to integrate into the so-called sustainable entrepreneurship that promotes the three aspects of sustainable development: economic, social and environmental.

The contribution of the enterprises in these areas is through the application of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); therefore, this research sheds light on the orientations of these institutions in the framework of the sustainable entrepreneurship.

This subject is slightly tackled in the research literature.
