English Abstract
Encryption is essential in cryptography to restrict data to authorized readership.
Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptography algorithm is widely used to protect information privacy and ensure user authentications, and it has not been hacked despite several cryptanalysis attempts.
AES achieves the confusion property using the substitution box (S-box) many times, having a non-linear relationship between the input and output, and achieves the diffusion property when changing only one bit of the input then changing half of the output bits.
This thesis highlights the S-box static attribute issue (which returns the same output each time the S-box gets the same input) by converting the S-box from static to dynamic with a new dynamic S-box design, depending on a random generator number with a new S-box generator.
It uses three suggested algorithms (Stash, Zigzag and Hybrid) to increase the AES security level and engage it with more difficult analyses, with increasing number of expected probabilities.
The implemented S-box generator and algorithms was merged with another ready-made AES program for accuracy and comparison with Standard AES according to the S-box properties of Avalanche Effect, Hamming Distance, Balancing Output, Correlation Factor, and Randomness using Image Histogram.
The suggested models outperform or are similar to the original Standard AES regarding S-box properties, while the Zigzag Algorithm achieves the optimum performance closest to the Standard AES execution time
