This study aimed at identifying social intelligence and its relationship with self-efficacy amongst Ajloun University College students based on the variables of gender and area of study (scientific vs.

humanitarian).

To measure the level of social intelligence, a survey of (28) items divided into four domains (social sufficiency, social tolerance, social awareness and social communication) was administered to a randomly selected sample of (500) male and female students out of a population of (2234).

Another survey of (21) items divided into three domains (capacity of effectiveness, generality and capability) was employed to measure self-efficacy.

Reliability and validity of the study tools were secured prior to administering them.

Findings showed that the level of students’ social intelligence was high and that there were no significant differences that could be attributed to gender or area of study.

Similar findings were revealed regarding students’ self-efficacy.

The paper identified a correlational relationship between the level of social intelligence and self-efficacy.

It recommends promoting extracurricular activities and delivering training programs to foster and/or improve skills relevant to social intelligence and communication, the improvement of which is likely to generate social harmony and help in overcoming potential problems that might hamper students’ self-efficacy.
