The occasion plays a fundamental role in determining the intended meaning of any lexical item , expression or phrase .

Being fully aware of the context in which the text is used , the text analyst can predict the intended meaning of the text in question .

Any text characterized by cohesion and coherence can be interpreted by relying on certain verbal and non - verbal elements .

To understand a text depends , to a certain degree , on its connectivity and coherence .

In this research , special attention will be paid to the role of the occasion in hanging the text together as a cohesive and coherent text .

this is because in order to understand what is meant by any verse, one has to look into every single sentence and clause and fall back on its context In the Quranic discourse, it has been taken into consideration the differences between the text receivers in terms of comprehending and interpreting the text, therefore,adequate consideration has been given to certain elements that would determine the reason , aim , and the like behind each verse .

It has been shown that being fully aware of the occasion would help in interpreting the Quranic context as they are so related to each other .
