Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring one of the major themes treated by the absurd literature in two literary texts.

The first text is Samuel Becketts play Waiting for Godott, and the second text is a poem entitled "Bleakness" by the Iraqi poet Buland Al-Haidari This study is in accordance with the views of both the French and American schools of comparative literature, and it mqkes use of a critical approach emphasizing the study of the cultural connection and the literary influence between the two texts, showing first what is related to the historical side, and second studying the aesthetic essence of the phenomenon of cause and effect in relation to the artistic side.
