Abstract EN

The current research aims to describe the lived experiences shared by adult children of alcoholics and to analyze these experiences in order to benefit them in understanding their concepts and basic components.

Researchers used a qualitative phenomenological approach, with a semi-structured interview on a sample of adult children (18 to 32 years of age) of five (3 females and 2 males) who were selected intentionally.

It was found that the lived experience of these individuals was twofold.

The first part includes experiences of a negative nature which comprises anxiety, fear, stigma, loss of role models, role conflicts, and fluctuation in scholastic achievement.

The second part includes experiences of a positive nature, including supplication and pride of mother.

It was recommended that such experiences should be taken into account in any assistance to such individuals
