Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to know the relationship of ' The Big Five Personality Inventory', optimism and pessimism with the aesthetic taste among the female students in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Al-Aqsa University, Gaza.

It also aims at determining the level of differences within 'The Big Five Personality Inventory', optimism, pessimism and aesthetic taste according to the variables of specialisation and academic level.

This study is conducted on a sample of 101 female students of Fine Arts Faculty.

'The Big Five Personality Inventory' measurement by Costa and Mc Crae, 1992, the measurement of optimism and pessimism by (Al-Tala': 2015), and aesthetic taste measurement by (Al-Qeeq: 2015) were applied.

The results showed that the factor of 'extraversion ' comes first with 74.69% which is high.

On the other hand the factor of 'neuroticism' comes last with 66.17% .

Furthermore, the total percentage of the measurement was 71.21%which is considered high according to the scale of measurement.

The results also showed that the factor of optimism is high with 82.33% , and the factor of pessimism is 54.06% which is considered average percentage.

In addition, the level of aesthetic taste is very high with 85.41%.

there is no relationship between 'The Big Five Personality Inventory', optimism, pessimism and aesthetic taste.
