Abstract EN

This survey study aims at exploring knowledge, attitudes and political practices of the Jordanian youth regarding their connections with politics and development, and its interrelations with society and culture.

The research society consists of a representative random sample of (1004) Jordanian youth within the age group of 18- 34 years.

This covers all districts of Jordan including youth of cities, villages and remote areas during the survey period.

The research used a survey -by -sample approach.

T he data was collected through a standardized fully- structured questionnaire.

The results were analyzed by SPSS.

The research was designed to answer three main questions: How deep do Jordanian youth understand the political developments taking place in their State and Society? What types of beliefs and images do they hold or perceive regarding the Jordanian political development ? What types of actions and behaviors do Jordanian youth take concerning what is going on in their society? To answer the research questions we referred to the Jordanian youth themselves to invest their capacities and potentials, avoiding the formal political stance directed to them.

The research works within three main dimensions: Youth awareness of the political and socio-cultural transformations.

Youth attitudes and political stand points.

Youth types of political actions and practices.

The massive results of the research point out to entire absence of political development ,and an absolute presence of fear, doubts , and alienation of the Jordanian youth from the political scene.
