Abstract EN

In recent years the world has faced many crises and disasters that threaten humanity’s safety and stability; a situation that requires cooperation among social institutions in order to serve society better.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not isolated from the rest of the world.

It has confronted several crises and disasters in the last few years, such as the floods and the damage they caused, the terrorist bombings that took place in different provinces and more recently the war in Yemen and its effects in the southern part of the kingdom.

Thus is the importance of this study in attempting to suggest to relevant authorities a role that Social Service can provide in this field.

It is a descriptive analytical study that uses the comprehensive survey of faculty members who specialize in social work and uses the survey as a tool to gather information.

The study has produced results and recommendations, key among which was the need to increase the number of social practitioners in this area and the importance of providing them with the appropriate knowledge, skills and values and enroll them into specialized courses.

And to give them the power to act in crisis situations and disasters in addition to educating the community and its institutions to support practitioners and recognize their role in this field
