Abstract EN

The study aims at investigating the employees using the social networks, their needs, and motives in securing information.

Moreover, it also highlights some aspects of obstacles facing their use.

The descriptive and analytical method for such study has been the selected tool.

For further investigation and data collection, questionnaires were distributed for the staff at Alneelain University and interviews were also conducted.

The study reveals that; most of the employees at Alneelain University are either B.A or Masters Degree holders.

They also enjoy reasonable experience in using computers, smart phones and internet when get networking with friends, or follow up events and surfing for information.

The most apparent obstacles are; slowness of internet and lack of optimization of library data on social networking.

The study recommends creating library sites and training programs for their staff to increase interaction with the social networking
