Abstract EN

The critical movement has emerged in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through various means operated by the individuals, and the Kingdom sponsored it since its establishment.

This movement had its reflections on several fronts such as books, science classes, lectures, meetings, newspapers and magazines.

If all these channels remained under the control of its authors and lecturers only, the newspapers and magazine would be an area to cover various viewpoints, to make the different prospective meet, linked to the nature of press and media, where writings and viewpoints are multiple and everyone has opportunity to participate without any precondition.

This research deals with the beginning of the critical movement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in line of newspapers and magazines and that is by focusing on the very first edition of the series of newspapers and magazines which represents the beginning of critical movement and its first root, and through which we can extrapolate the critical movement and the nature of issues that I discussed and the ideas I put forward.

The study focuses on the time zone where the stage of individual journalism came to an end with the introduction of the national press institutions on the twenty-fourth of Sha'ban 1383 AH (13-February- 1964).
