English Abstract

It is well known that the study of language as a social phenomenon is not an innovation, whether in the social sciences or in the Lassanis.

In a quick reference, Charles Ferguson points to this fact: "Social psychology pioneers such as George Herbert Med have long emphasized the importance of language in social interaction, and at the turn of the century, To put the language in their social position, and to combine social analysis and the study of linguistic change, under the umbrella of social linguistics.

Perhaps one of the most salient issues in this science is its focus in the parole, ie, the actual use of the language in all its social dimensions, so the basic line taken by social linguistics is to focus historically and qualitatively on this question: Who speaks? In what language? On what occasion? Research on the subject of social context and its linguistic extensions is one of the main and important topics addressed by the Lassans who work within this framework, especially when these extensions are on the contextual meanings of the verbal event.

The research came in two sections: The first topic is the social origin of context theory.

The second topic: Contextual thinking and its theoretical and applied extensions.

The research came out with several results, including: 1 - Firth's view of meaning as a function in the context of a shift in view of meaning after it was described as a relationship between the word and what is transmitted abroad, or in the mind of facts and events; 2.

Context is the essence of what is meant by any textual or verbal construct.

It not only sheds light on the word and the sentence, but on the written text and the total words of the vocabulary relationship in each of the different contexts.

3 - Firth has established his vision on the social dimension of the linguistic phenomenon in its cultural and communicative basis, based on the description of the relationship between language and social structures, and on the interdependence of the internal relationship and the external contextual relationship in the interpretation of meaning, so the language learner should study it as part of the social path, Of human life, not as a group of arbitrary signs or signs as de Susser crossed.
