The novel narrative mirrors reality and draws its features according to the perspective of the novelist and how he sees the world around him, so he sees in the imagination and does not envisage the accuracy and consistency in drawing what he sees, usually borrowed novelist novelist characteristics of his character and features of the characters in a variety of real world he selects and chooses The identity of his paper personality.

In other words, the fictional character is more like a mask disappears behind many real characters.

In order to broadcast the novelist's life in this paper personality, he aims to put it in different social roles to monitor its behavior and give it its identity.

On this basis there is no individual identity in the narration, Character traits are characteristic of a large segment of society that share common features and features in the specific time and space.

In this paper, we attempt to shed light on the cultural network in the novel "The Death of the Book Vendor" by the novelist Saad Mohammed Rahim, and the attempt to transform the meaning into the novel narrative system, which the novel tries to express according to the writer's attitudes regarding the human aspect and the identity traits of the Iraqi intellectual.

The story revolves around details that tell us about a narrator who was commissioned to write a novel about a character unknown to him (Mahmoud al-Marzouq), the hero of the novel, who was assassinated under mysterious circumstances.

The story begins with the death of the hero and with the continuation of the reactionary narrative, which depends on a variety of techniques such as dialogue, letters and memoirs.

The identity of the people is revealed and the facts unfold.

The adoption of the novelist Saad Mohammed Rahim ) In this narrative narrative, the narrator (the journalist) and the receiver (reader) are faced with a challenge to search for (identity) in all its dimensions, which is formed gradually with the sequence of narrative.

According to this proposal, the narrative is transformed into a subject of proof of identity in a time characterized by political, intellectual, social and economic fluctuations, especially since the time of the novel begins from the sixties to the fall of Iraq under the US occupation, a stage filled with serious changes at all levels.

The Iraqi intellectual was not immune to these fluctuations.

The book presented by Saad Mohammed Rahim in this novel expresses his vision of reality, trying to uncover the major issues in the structure of society.
