Abstract EN

The study aims at addressing the Saudi e-newspapers‟ treatment of the employment of relatives crisis by studying and analyzing the contents of the Saudi electronic newspapers submitted by the active public and the media reacting to the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Commission.

The study adopted the "survey approach" to examine the public's participation and interaction with the press material related to the crisis of employing relatives and to monitor the agreement and the difference between the formula and the quality of treatment in dealing with this crisis in a "sample study" of electronic newspapers, in the period from 1 / 1 / 2016 until 30 / 12 / 2016.

Since the study population was large and diverse, the study was limited to a selected sample represented by the newspapers: „Alweeam‟, „Sabq‟, and „Ajel‟.

The three newspapers were chosen due to their widespread circulation and regularity in publishing.

Also, they are the most recent newspapers dealing with the "crisis of employing relatives".

The study found that 53.3 % of the published news items dealt with the crisis of employing relatives.

In the sample of Saudi e-newspapers in the study, negative comments from the public were high at 40.2%.

The manner of dealing with the press issues of this crisis in the Saudi electronic newspapers varied between statements of officials, inquiries about the crisis and rumors.

88.8 % of the key figures in the press articles dealing with the crisis were ministers and government officials.

The most important communication and information efforts of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in communicating with officials and fact-finding were during and after the crisis.

These efforts also pointed to the moderate success of the National Anti-Corruption Commission in tackling the crisis and its developments as reported by the study newspapers.
