Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the professional, scientific, teaching and personal competencies that the educational supervisor believes he possesses from his point of view, as well as his belief in the image that teachers and school principals have about him.

The study population consists of all the educational supervisors in Irbid Governorate, a nd a sample of (137) supervisors were chosen randomly.

To achieve the study objectives a valid and reliable questionnaire was developed, consisting in its final version (20) items, and was answered by the sample.

Results of the study showed the personal competencies ranked first, the and scientific competencies in the last rank, through the supervisors' evaluation of themselves, and by their belief in the image seen by teachers and principals whom they supervise, there were statistical differences in all the dimensions and in the total score.

The differences were in favor of the level of supervisors' assessment of their professional competencies of them.

In addition, there were statistical differences due to the impact of the certificate in all dimensions and in the total score, except for teaching efficiency, and the differences were in favor of the and no significant differences due to years of experience in all the dimensions.
