Abstract EN

This paper addresses the differences between the Basra and Kufa schools through two parts.

First part describes the concepts and emergence of grammar, the formation of Basra and Kufa schools, the characteristics of curriculum and classes, the beginning of controversy and its motives as well as a bit beneficial effects resulted from this controversy.

Second part gives a brief definition to Al-anbary and his book " al-Insaf fi Masa'il al-Khilaf" as grammatical body on which this paper was based to follow the controversial grammatical issues between the two schools, especially those based on their common arguments and how the other party was argued the first party' argument in displaying these issues; this part also tried to identify the grammatical controversy in the predicate (Al-khabar) between the two schools by studying some its impact
