This article intends to locate the cereal sector in Algeria, through the examination of the main characteristic indicators of production, processing, imports and consumption.

Dynamic in relation to the policies adopted, which led to the extroversion of the cereal sector, especially for wheat.

This results ultimately that cereal production has experienced low growth compared to the consumption increased sharply as a result of population growth and support the prices of state for consumption, result: Industry disconnection local cereal production sphere.
