Abstract EN
The paper reflects on August Wilson‟s portrayal of the African American concern over their history and national belonging in his last play Radio Golf (2005), a concern that occupies a special status in contemporary black literature.
This paper shows how August Wilson represents history as a kind of cultural continuity.
The idea of the play is based on the struggle between the owner of a historical house in Hill District, Wilson‟s birthplace, and some investors who intend to buy this historical signpost in order to demolish it, and builds on its memorable ruins, a redevelopment centre .This oppressive project is confronted by fierce opposition on the part of some black men who reject all the attempts to obliterate their identity.
This paper confirms that August Wilson strongly believes that history deepens the sense of belonging to the black nation.
