Abstract EN
The traditional canon of Islam is that its sacred texts consist of fixed principles of beliefs, laws (Shari’ah) and doctrine (Aqida), all combined in an overall unified framework.
Muslim scholars expended great effort to understand the goals and objectives of Islamic law, or Maqasid al-Shari’ah as an evidently important theme of the Shari’ah, and they observed that all the Islamic laws aim at preserving and protecting five major necessities, namely religion, life, progeny, intellect and property (wealth).
Thus, the prophethood of Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) designed itself so as to protect the benefits of Shari’ah.
Most importantly, Maqasid al-Shari’ah had frequently directed the general orientation of the Islamic Call (Da’awa) as the latter’s top necessities were to preserve and protect both religion and human life.
Besides, the Islamic Da’awa sought to remove severity and hardship and encouraged gentleness and fair dealing to attain perfection in every aspect of human life.
