Abstract EN

The present research focuses on the trends of fishery production in the inner water features in Basra province, and specifying the important natural, humanistic, and biological problems and its effects on the fishery production in rivers and marshes, and how to treat these problems so as to attain the sustainable development for this animal resource and to protect this for next generation .

The results showed that there is a contrast in the amount of river fishing from year to year, and this can be attributed to a number of interrelated factors such as the biological state, the use of primitive fishing tools, or the fish stock being affected by the high level of permissible fishing.

Besides, temperature extremes in the hot season affects fishermen especially with relative rising humidity.
