Abstract EN

This study deals with the population growth in the province of Basra, according to population census and projections in 2012, so as to know the evolution in the size of the population and can reach the status of the projected population increase, and the problems arising from the rapid growth of the population, especially the urban population, the study showed rapid population increase and growth of the population Basra province, and spatial variation of growth in areas of the province and the reasons for this discrepancy is attributable to the economic and social factors, in order to reach specific conclusions and propose a set of solutions that will limit that growth.
