Abstract EN

The present study tackles the role of the novelist’s imagination in reconstructing a new shape to the far-gone periods in the Algerian history through the novel Colonel of Zubarber.

Due to the interaction between the present and the past, the presented history is a new knowledge produced by the narrator’s imagination through aesthetic contexts which were based on the notions of deconstruction and reconstruction.

It questions what has been ignored by the historians through a background where the reader and the horizon of his interpretation of that imaginative structure are historically interacted.

These imaginative aspects aimed at deconstructing the contexts which ignored important stages in the Algerian history.

These imaginative aspects sought to the reveal history and its relationship with the identity of the individual and to criticize it by questioning its credibility through the refusal of some realities and substituting of the latter with other imaginary ones
