English Abstract

The sense of the unity of the peoples of the African continent in the face of colonialism, or the sense of its unity among its peoples, was evident among independent African states, even before the establishment of the Organization of African Unity in 1963.

The unity of Africa, with the aspirations of the Africans for independence, and the spread of the torch between independent African countries that Africa should be liberated.

African unity was affected by African conferences held by African independent states and African peoples.

These conferences attempted to renew the dimensions of African unity and interpretation according to various concepts In an attempt to develop general guidelines for the implementation phase ().

The establishment of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) was in itself the liquidation of the blocs and divisions that emerged on the continent, especially in the early 1960s, and after a large group of its countries became independent.

Some pointed out that the change of circumstances among African countries following the independence of Algeria in 1962 , And ending the conflict over the issue of the separation of the province of Katanga from the Congo in 1963, ended the differences and friction between African countries, and the road is open and appropriate for the signing of the Charter of the Organization of African Unity Therefore, we will discuss the role of the Organization and its strategy towards liberation, and the political and material support provided by this Organization to the cause of Southern Rhodesia, because of the importance of this State first, and the suffering of the British colonialism II
