The value of this research stems from the growing concern for such challenges with a view to achieving higher levels of environmental security in in the Arab World.

Study is centered on the question: what are the current challenges to environmental security in the Arab World? The research endeavors to identify key sources of environment pollution as well as its impacts and way of combatting it.

It also aims to determine key challenges to environmental security both globally and in the Arab World.

Through analysis of content's approach, the research summed up with a number of findings, the most significant of which are the following: key sources of environment pollution are: earthquakes, floods and power plants, and key forms of environment pollution are: air, water and soil pollution.

Key impacts of environment pollution according to the research is Ozone hole and key ways of combatting are keeping water and air clean.

Major challenges to environmental security in the Arab World include: the grave threat posed by floods to some Arab countries; drying up of most artesian wells as the case in Iraq's AL Ahwar; population pressure; overexploitation of land; water shortage; climate change; desertification and impacts of the Arab Spring in terms of destruction and spread of chemicals and carbons due to the excessive use of explosives and lethal weapons against people and properties which increased environment pollution and undermined environmental security in such countries.
