Fruit is a staple food for humans.
As a result of the increased level of food culture and population growth, the demand for fruit has increased, as well as the provision of many raw materials for the food, medical and cosmetic industries.
Therefore, the study of the geographical characteristics (natural and human) affecting the cultivation of fruit trees in Iraq are important topics.
Human characteristics greatly affect the cultivation and production of fruit .
Natural characteristics greatly affect the cultivation and production of fruit trees and in the identification of species that can be grown in different parts of Iraq .
There are ten governorates in which there is concentration for the production of some fruit types, namely, Saladin, Nineveh, Anbar and Diyala governorates, while there are some governorates where there is no concentration for one type of fruit.
The provinces of Babylon, Najaf and Basra.
