Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the Attitudes of Dwadmi population towards Saudi women`s employment in the health professions.

It is an analytical، descriptive study adopting the method of social survey and sampling.

The study population consists of Saudi males and females visiting Dwadmi hospitals.

The study adopted the stratified cluster sampling to select a total of 321 individuals.

The questionnaire was used as the tool for the study.

The most important results are: The attitude of the sample towards the work of women in the health professions is positive.76.3% of respondents said women are entitled to choose their career.

59.5% refuse the change of women`s roles, 39.6% believe that the role of women in society does not change.

About 55.1% of respondents agree to women`s work in hospitals, 44.9% did not accept it because it encourages contacts between men and women.

Another reason is the long working hours.

69.8% respondents accept it if far from men, 68.2% if suitable working conditions are available.

The study has recommended the establishment of Women`s hospitals, the increase in private colleges to prepare women for health professions and the media highlight of the positive aspects of women work in the health sector.
