Abstract EN

Sovereign wealth funds have emerged to manage fiscal surpluses, particularly in oil-exporting countries, and have been well known and developed notably in the last decade.

Algeria is one of the countries that experienced this experience with the establishment of a stabilization fund-the Resource Control fund- in 2000.

This study aims to highlight the role of sovereign wealth funds in achieving sustainable development, particularly in Algeria, and has concluded that saving funds can contribute to the achievement of sustainable development through intergenerational equity and the diversification of the state's economic base.

Algeria is also experiencing a suffocating crisis in the light of the decline in oil prices since the summer of 2014, owing to the limited role of the resource control fund that is the stabilization of revenues, which warrants a review of the structure and functioning of the Fund.
