English Abstract

The present research aims to identify "the effect of the use of the Appleton model in the acquisition and retention of geographical concepts among intermediate second grade students".

The researcher used the following hypotheses: 1 - There are no statistically significant differences at the level of (0.05) between the average score of students (experimental group) that study the geographical concepts according to the model Ableton and the average grades of students (control group) 2 - There is no statistical significance at the level (0.05) between the average score of students (the experimental group), which examines the geographical concepts according to the model Belton and the average score of students (control group) The current research was limited to the second grade students in Muthanna Governorate.To achieve the research objective, the researcher chose a experimental design with two equal groups, The other is an officer who is taught in the traditional way.

It consisted of 48 students with 24 students per group.

The researcher was rewarded between the two study groups using T-test and Ka- In the variables of chronological age and the tribal test of geography and intelligence, and the academic achievement of parents and the differences were not statistically significant.

The researcher prepared educational plans and a collection test according to the steps of the experimental map.

The sample consists of (50) And keep them on display A group of experts and specialists in education.The duration of the experiment lasted 6 weeks The researcher applied the test to a sample of 100 students In the half-way, he found that the stability was (0.80).

The study showed that the experimental group studied using the Ableton model was superior to the control group studied in the traditional way.

After two weeks, the same test was repeated on the same sample to measure the retention He found that the experimental group had surpassed the control group in retaining geographic concepts.The researcher concluded that the use of the Ableton model is effective in acquiring geographical concepts.
