English Abstract

The Current Research Aims To Identify The Effectiveness of The Wording of The Item In Reducing The Degree of Error Caused by Responses of Individuals Caring For The Social Desirability Factor.

To Achieve This Goal The Researcher Resorted To The Scale of Narcissistic Personality (Narcissistic Personality Inventory) (NPI) by Raskin, R.

& Hall, C.S.

(1981), Translated by AbdulRaqeeb Ahmed Al-Beheiry (2012), This Scal Consists of (54) Items Designed by Compulsory Selection Method (Picture (A)), With a View To Identifying The Extent To Which The Scale Formulation Method Reduces The Standard Error, I have Derived From The Original Picture of The Wording of The Item Another Method That Was Formulated In The Self- Report Format (Figure (b)) , The Two Alternatives (Applies to - Not Applicable to).

To Verify The Properties of The Psychometric Scale, Through The Calculation of The Validity of The Scale In more Than One Way and Index, in Order To Verify The Validity of The Items Logically and Extract The Apparent Honesty of The Scale, The Researcher Presented The Items of The Scale in Its Preliminary Form to (11) Experts From The Educational and Psychological Specialists, and Asked Them To Express Their Opinion On The Validity of The Items of The Scale, After Their Opinions Were Analyzed By Using The (2) Test For Good Conformity, (3) Items Were Excluded Because They did Not Obtain The Support of The Arbitrators (4.44) at (0.05) , Which is Equivalent to (82%) of The Experts and Arbitrators and Thus Verified the Face Validity Scale, The Researcher Was not Satisfied With The Accuracy of The Scale, but was Resorted to The Calculation of The Power of Excellence and The Relationship of The Tegree of Item in The Overall Degree of The Scal as Indicators of The Construct Validity, The Results of The Analyzes Showed That The Paragraphs were Homogeneous in The Measurement of What Was Prepared to Measure at The Level of Significance (0.05).Where The Standard Error of Their Scores Obtained From Their Responses To The Two Methods of Measurement Was Calculated.

After Using The Appropriate Statistical Methods, Which Were Carried Out In Statistical Analyzes of The (SPSS) Program, The Following Results Were Obtained: 1.

There are Differences Between The Tesponses of Individuals To The Measure of Personality Built According To The Methods of Forced Choice and Self- Report.

2.

The Degree of Error Resulting From The Application of The Standard In The Forced Choice Method is Less Likely To Be a Standard Error Than The Application of The Self- Correct Method.

3.

The Preference of The Forced Choice Method In The Self-Righteous Method To Reduce The Degree of Standard Error That May Result from Considering The Subjects of Social Desirability.

In The Light of Those Results, Appropriate Recommendations and Proposals were Formulated.
