Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the level of strategic planning at Jordanian universities, in addition to recognize which universities (government or private) adopt better strategic planning.

To measure the variables of the study, the researchers relied on the development of a questionnaire to achieve the objectives of the study.

The questionnaire was distributed to the sample of the study, which consisted of (deans, heads of academic departments, financial managers, directors of admission and registration and directors of human resources) at public and private universities.

Retrieved and validated for analysis (585) questionnaire.

The study concluded to several results, the most prominent of which are: The level of strategic planning at private universities for all areas of strategic planning was high and is statistically significant for all fields.

The level of strategic planning in the official universities was medium for all areas of strategic planning.

The results of the study also shows that the following fields in the official universities are statistically significant: vision, mission, organizational structure, human resource efficiency, and availability of financial resources.

The following areas are represented: objectives, environmental analysis, strategic option, and the university's commitment to strategic planning , and the prevalence of the culture of strategic planning) was not statistically significant
