The acceleration of technological development and overlapping many factors around the globe led to the formation of cultural capital turned the world into a small village and became the exchange of ideas and information become very fast..

Cultural security (with all this great technological development and change in time and place), has become strongly warned of the collapse of civilizations and cultures deterioration.

Cultural security is seen as an indispensable element in the achievement of social development, it refers to the provision of safe culture of the people.

This study belongs to studies, researchers have used social survey by using a sample of some of Sultan Qaboos University students and staff ( academics and administrators).

The sample included 350 of them.

Electronic questionnaire was used the survey tool to collect data.

The study concluded that there are a number of challenges that threaten the cultural security, one of them was the globalization, the Internet and the technological revolution, the weakness of spiritual and moral values, poor sound socialization, the spread of foreign workers (servants , drivers, shops), the role played by the media in all its forms and methods, and also the cultural duality and the spread of cultural subordination of Western countries in various aspects of life, and finally the weakness of the role of civil society.

Finally, (based on the results), the researchers set of proposals and mechanisms implemented in an attempt to reduce the obstacles that may threaten cultural security.
