Nigeria suffered from political instability and military control over the government because of the weak political structure represented by the weakness of the ruling party, which could not keep pace with the aspirations of the citizens, as well as the weakness of the political leadership due to the power struggle and the tyranny of personal aspirations for national loyalty, economic , social problems, political and administrative corruption, the external factors represented by interventions from foreign parties to incite military coups because the ruling authority is not subject to its demands and ambitions, the Second Republic did not continue long as it fell to the military dictatorship again, the justification of fighting corruption administrative and bribery in state institutions and the protection of human rights, the military political practice in Nigeria became a commercial market in which to invest capital because of their control of national wealth and to strengthen their influence in power, despite the attempt of Ibrahim Babangida to restore civilian rule of the country, but his attempt was not serious, The cancellation of the results of the 1993 elections, as well as the international and internal pressure that demanded the restoration of civil rule of the country and the peaceful transfer of power.
