Abstract EN

This study analyzes the extent to which the government pension fund global (Norway) and the Fund for the regulation of receipts (Algeria) commit to the principles of Santiago; it also aims to provide a useful reference point for the review of this model, hoping to help those who are interested in the activities of sovereign wealth funds in the briefing of how to apply these different funds with the principles of Santiago in their countries.

It has been founded that the Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) is one of the fully compliant funds with the principles of Santiago, while the fund for the regulation of receipts (FRR)still suffering since its creation, from imbalances in its structure and objectives; where its role was limited to cover the deficit of the budget and reduce the size of the debt, and the dependence on petroleum levy as the main source for financing the fund, put it in a sensitive position during the current crisis after the unexpected sudden collapse of the oil prices to very low levels.
