Abstract EN

It’s legitimate to consider the mutation that occured with Humboldt, by the interest that he attributed to the anthropological role of language, through the concept of " the world view", as a Copernican revolution in the history of the philosophical-linguistic thought.

Indeed, Humboldt, very early, had the intuition of the significance of the problem of human nature from the anthropological point of view.

However, it seems that Humboldt’s thought didn’t spark neither the interest of philosophers for whom he was a linguist nor the interest of the linguists for whom he was a philosopher.

Maybe because his work has not been estimated at its true value and its ideas were untimely.

This paper aims to show that the work of Humboldt has found a new tradition concerning the linguistic thought, both on a philosophical level as well as Linguistics.

Therefore, can we consider modern linguistic ideas as variations of Humboldt’s thinking, or is it only unintended interference ?
