Abstract EN

This study deals with the study of heritage mosques in Bengasi especially to those which had existed until now and those which had vanished from many years ago.

It can be calculated mosques which are keeping their planning, they are seven: Al-Ateeq mosque, Al-hadia mosque, Al-Mestary mosque, Al-Showaykhat mosque, Al-Zawya Al- Madanya mosque and Al-Jahany mosque.

Whereas the other ones included renew, however, Bengasi mosques can be divided according to its kinds into two kinds which are: local one and the other: ottoman one in the end of 19th century.

The importance of studying mosques concentrated on describing them as serial of Islamic rachitic in order to document the mosques that stay until today and to know what the changes that happen to them are Civil war in Libya in addition to modern works that happened to it with many of basic monuments of mosques which had changed their ancient shape, it is need to repair returning to first case, specially to people who were still have abilities and experiences in the construction field by stones according to ancient styles.
