Abstract EN

Bejaia was highly considered during the medieval centuries; for not only its strategic geographic position but also for the quality of the visitors who were of a high rank.

They were scientists and imminent sophist among them was Abu Zakariya Ibn Ali nicknamed « Zouaoui » (d 611 H) who marked the city of Bejaia by his behaviour, values and mainly his moral and material impact on the society.

Many visitors converged to his Zaouia.

According to some resources the « Zaouia » was of a great consideration thanks to Abu Zakariya.

I am attempting to illuminate some unknown aspects of this Zaouia in this great city during the era of medieval centuries through translated Zouaoui documents and stand on the sacred aspect of his schools which was his creation to pave the way for the next coming generations.

This is the core of my research and interest.
