Abstract EN

Translation nowadays is of great importance.

It helps us make use of the knowledge in the developed countries, especially the knowledge of the scientific works.

Translation movement in the Arab word is extremely weak, where as the developed countries are engaged in translating other countries works on the spot, for they realize the importance of being aware of other cultures.

Ancient Arabs realized the importance of translation.

They, in the abased era, translated many literary, cultural and scientific works from Greek, Persian and Indian into Arabic.

This gave rise to the progress of Islamic Arab civilization.

Owing to the lack of interst in translation in Arab countries at the time of being, universities tend to teach scientific fields in languages other than Arabic.

Since translation is a means of language development, my research will be focused on translation.

The research will be fall into the following topics: 1) The importance of translation.

2) Translation and language.

3) The role of the universities in translation movement.

4) Taking interst in teaching foreign languages for the purpose of translation.

The research seeks to illustrate the close relationship between translation and language development.

In this concern, translation includes new subjects, modern meaning, or unknown terms in the (Target language); subsequently, the (Target Language) benefits the language from which the text had translation.

The research also included the translation methods.

The research further sought to explain the Arabization issue, particularly, science Arabization to the students of the scientific colleges, so as Arabic will become the teaching language.

It also indicated the importance of placing special attention to the foreign languages, especially, English and French for translation purposes.

To sum, the reason that encouraged the researcher to choose this subject or the research problem can be summarized by the lack of the Arabic Library for translated references into Arabic, and the importance of Arabization in the university teaching, so that students will more comprehend their curricula.
