Abstract EN

This study focuses on the extent of Jordanian elites’ dependence on the Aljazeeraʼs talk shows presents as a source for the political information.

Besides, it aims at identifying the eventual effects from this dependence through conducting survey study on a sample amounts (210) item distributed on the Jordanian elites (political, academic, syndicalistic) by using the equal shared samples approach, in which (70) questionnaire have been distributed for each category.

The study revealed that (52.9%) from the study sample were exposed to talk shows on Aljazeera channel.

The percentage of Jordanian elites dependence who are watching these programs was moderate (M=3.58), while the degree of trust in these programs was high (M=3.72).

Furthermore, the study findings revealed that one of the most important reasons for Jordanian elites dependence on the talk shows was following up the political development of the Iraqi case, then following up the political developments of the Palestinian one and the Israeli – Arab conflict.

Besides, identifying the future of American relationships with Islamic movement in the Arab arena.

Thus, the most prominent effects for the study sample dependence on these programs are as follow: cognitive effects, most notably, talk shows explained the political developments of the Iraqi case, then the emotional effects, most notably the talk shows contributed in raising the political awareness for me, finally, the behavioral effects, most notably talk shows contributed in engaging and reactivating me with the community
