Abstract EN

This aim of the study was to identify the impact of visual sports media on disseminating sports culture among high school students in Al-Mafraq.

To achieve the objective of the study, a (26) items questionnaire distributing on (4) main domains: (competitive, cultural, health social) was developed.

The sample of the study consisted of (395) male and female secondary school students randomly selected from the population of the study.

The results of the study showed moderate level for visual sports media sport programs in developing the sports culture among students themselves, as they focus on football compared to other sports.

There were no statistically significant differences in students' perceptions about the impact of visual sports media on disseminating sports culture among high school students due to gender, academic track, practicing sport, non- practicing sport.

Sport media assumes a great responsibility in disseminating sport awareness which is a further burden.

The study recommended that visual sport media should focus more on the reports presented on the different local channels, which meet students' interests and desires by disseminating sport awareness among them, and the need for strategic planning in the sport media to inform students about the rules and regulations of the various sport games.
