Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the degree of senior administration in Palestinian universities practicing crisis management and its relationship with indicators of strategic thinking they have.

The researchers used the descriptive analytical method, using two questionnaires, the first (crisis management) consisting of 30 items, and the second (indicators of strategic thinking), consisting of (25) items.

The study sample consisted of 123 employees in senior administration Palestinian universities (Vice Dean and above).

The main results are as follows: -Total degree of estimate for crisis management was (76.03 %), and a mean (3.79) has occupied the first area associated with planning to address the crisis on the first position relative weight (78.07 %), followed by third area associated with the feedback after crisis on the second relative weight (74.81 %), followed by the second domain associated with dealing with the crisis on the last rank relative weight (74.44 %).

-There were statistically significant differences (α < 0.05) between the mean scores estimate for crisis management attributable to type of the university, for the benefit of both governmental, and Academic Rank in favor of (Assistant Professor), while there were no differences attributed to years of service.

-The total score of the sample to estimate indicators of strategic thinking among senior management ranging from (3.89-4.55), and the relative weight (83.05 %).

-The existence of a positive relationship for crisis management and the degree of appreciation for indicators of strategic thinking, where the correlation coefficient is equal to (0.573).

-In light of the findings recommendations are cited, including: -The development of specialized training programs in special factors of strategic thinking for top leaders of the Palestinian universities in proportion to the local environmental conditions.

-Work to increase awareness among workers in the universities at various levels of crisis management concepts and stages.
