The codicology or the publication of Arab-Islamic classical sources is considered as a scientific and ethical mission.

The contents of those documents are very important, they represent a historical source that must be protected from all forms of loss and damage on the one hand, and counterfeiting, and distortion on the other one.

However, the scholar who worked on the manuscripts had to create and develop methods and techniques of preserving the rareness and worthiness of the document.Many Historians and scholars gave a special care to the Arab-Islamic manuscripts.

The formers have understood the importance of those precious materials that remain till now, very useful for historical studies, Islamic studies and other fields like economics, politics, genealogy, and hagiography.

In this article, I will try to shed light on Professor Abdelkader Boubaya’s assessment of Aissa Elmazouni manuscript “Manakib Soulah Chlef”.

Professor Boubaya is the most experienced one of most important elements of the group of researchers who is still working on this project.

He has published many manuscripts about the history of Maghreb and Muslim Spain in the Islamic classical period.

He always attempts to correct the manuscripts by scientific methods such as comparison between copies in deferent libraries.

Moreover, he also makes the necessary efforts to read the lost words in the text, then he finds the biographies of the people, and the position of the places cited in the text.

In addition to those tasks, Professor Boubaya finishes the ideal version of the manuscript by appendixes and indexes of the Quran verses, hadiths and poems when necessary.

Usually, this kind of work provides a precious material for researchers to make an unquestioned scientific history.
