Abstract EN

This study dealt with one of the settlement policies implemented by the French occupation to strengthen its presence and serve its interests in the south west of Algeria since 1847, including the completion of the railway project from saida region through Khaythar, Ain Sefra, till Bechar for more than 440 km.

The study also focus on the big role of this line in motivating the use of many wealth’s, as the mineral wealth, livestock and plants like allies.

Linked to the movement of markets, It affected the movement of the movable tribes of south western region and their trade affairs.

It also built train stations across this line that combined the civil, military and commercial roles, like Bougtob and Djenien- Bourezg station, which was established in 1900.

The residents of the area resisted this project in context of popular resistors .
