Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the participation of Jordanian women in the decentralization elections of 2017 and the impact of Women quota in the decentralization law on the participation of Jordanian women in the decentralization elections.

The study concluded that the decentralization law gave Jordanian women the right to vote and run for Governorate Councils, and that there is a positive effect between the Women quota in the decentralization law and the participation of women in the decentralization elections.

The study recommended increasing the number of additional seats allocated to women in Governorate Councils, and the development of guidance and awareness programs about the importance of the participation of Jordanian women in Governorate Councils, and to provide material support for women in electoral propaganda campaigns, holding sessions and training programs for women members of provincial councils.
