Since the end of the Second World War, 1939-1945, international relations marked by war and ideological conflicts waged by the two great East and West blocs, manifested themselves in visible tensions, which resulted in a considerable increase towards the arms race by means of weapons and means of mass destruction.

At the same time other colonial powers less important than the powers of Moscow and Washington, as the French colonial empire were trying to implement their Atomic project to join the world atomic club among its great powers.

However the French official authorities deployed all means for the success of this project through both theoretical and operational stages.

Official France has spent a substantial budget from 1952 directly involving the Ministry of Finance.

After the military action launched on November 1, 1954 by the Algerian revolutionaries, many scientists and physicists specialists in the atom were designated by Paris to develop the French atomic project and implement it under the direction and command of the highest military and political French authorities.

Charles de Gaulle appointed General Charles AILLERET as the senior leader of this mission by making the Algerian Sahara the geographical space that will serve as the ground for the first explosion of the French atomic bomb on February 13, 1960.

22 other explosions followed in the same area of the Algerian Sahara even after independence, disregarding international laws, though serious consequences on the people as well as on the animal world and the environment were pointed to.

From this context, this modest research aims to highlight the French Atomic project in colonial policy
