Abstract EN
The Crusades against the Islamic Orient are one of the episodes of the conflict between the East and the West.
This conflict included all spheres of political, military, economic, social and even cultural life.
The Latin princes and kings of the West tried to benefit from their victories and settle themselves in the region and exploit the wealth of the Levant in general and Jerusalem in particular .
Since the condemnation of Jerusalem, they began to expand their areas of influence, activating economic activities, especially the industry.
The land they seized became a repository for their various agricultural products.
They could meet the various necessities of their community, including wine, olive oil, sugar and other materials.
Provided that the Kingdom of Jerusalem was a priority to seize areas of wealth and supervision of commercial routes in order to control the region and have a preference, and provide various other industrial needs of the Crusader community, especially the Knights.
