Abstract EN

The researcher, according to plan, watched and followed Turkish episodes in general, and in particular, the episodes focused on in this study.

The focus of the analytical study was four Turkish episodes, taken as a sample, through satellite channels spotlighted in this study; aired through MBC, Dubai, Sama Dubai and Abu Dhabi satellite TVs.

The episodes are “Al-Ard Al Tayeba – The good land”, “Hareem Al-Sultan – The Sultan’s Harem”, “Fatima”, “Al-Asheq AlMamnoua – Forbidden Love”.

These samples were studied and the contents scrutinized.

The tables included reflect the results of this study.

Regarding the surveyal study, the focus was a group of academic and media experts, twenty of whom were selected.

Only eleven of them have responded.

They answered questions posted to them and their answers were restricted to the results of the surveyal study.

The results of the answers limited to the boundaries of the study regarding the first assumption showed that the negative values exceeded the positive ones on the sample of the Turkish episodes aired through Arabic channels.

The Study showed that this assumption was not accurate, but there was a balance between what is negative and what is positive in the values presented by the episodes in focus.

The second assumption, which refers to the fact that Western values reflected by these episodes contradicts the conservative Arabic culture, the study found out that this assumption was true according to the opinions of the experts.

Regarding the third assumption, which refers to the fact that these Turkish episodes present historical events that contradicts the Arabic version of these events.

The study found this assumption to be also true through consulting and following responses and opinions of the experts.
