Abstract EN

This analytical study aimed at describing the press coverage of the local electoral campaign by the Algerian press in the November 23, 2017, by selecting two daily newspapers to compare them, El Khabar as a model for a private newspaper and El Shaab as a model for a public newspaper.

The study ended with a number of results, the most important of which were the following: El-Shaab excelled in El-Khabar in terms of the size of its coverage of the electoral campaign and in terms of the space allocated to present the contents of this event.

Pages, The "people" covered the topics related to political parties' schedules and political programs.

While El Khabar dealt with issues related to the opposition and the negative aspects of the election campaign, the press coverage of the two newspapers studied the known political parties and the heavyweight.
